What is Justice? by Dr. Charles Jones

Who should get what and why? Principles of social or distributive justice tell us how to distribute the benefits and burdens of social cooperation, such as freedoms, money, and work. Which principles of justice are best? What reasons can be offered to support them? What kind of state, economy, and society should we want?

Dr. Charles Jones is Chair of the Department of Political Science at Western University. His research focuses on questions of international ethics, including human rights and global justice. His books include Global Justice (Oxford University Press) and, as co-editor, The Rights of Nations (Palgrave Macmillan). He received his PhD in 1996 from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
